EgoGraph

2020-2026

When you type something into Google, the autocomplete suggestions reveal connections between topics. EgoGraph used those suggestions to build interactive network graphs.

The idea was you could type in any topic and see a network graph of related searches. It was a different way to discover brands, products, and topics you might not have found through a traditional search.

One of the more interesting features was the visualization of the top 5,000 search queries in the database as a single large graph. It was like looking at a map of the internet.

EgoGraph was a fun exploration of network science applied to everyday search behavior, and it helped me learn a lot about graph theory, visualization, and working with large datasets in the browser.
